Clark, Harold Kenneth, 80 of Sunrise Fl, passed away peacefully on Good Friday, April 2, 2010. He was the husband of Carol Clark to whom he was married for 57 years. Born in Hope RI, a son of the late George and Ethel (Elmer) Clark, he spent most of his life in Coventry, RI before moving to Florida.
A U.S. Marine Corps. Veteran of the Korean War, Harold proudly served aboard the aircraft carrier U.S.S. Princeton. After an honorable discharge he returned to RI with his wife and started a family. He was a truck driver for many years, working for Moan Bros., Roger Williams Grocery, and Arkwright-Interlaken. Harold was the Fire Chief for the Hope Jackson Volunteer Fire Department in 1964. He also worked many years at Electric Boat-Quonset Point as a rigger, dispatcher, and supervisor, retiring in 1994. Harold enjoyed country music, family gatherings, and time spent with his grandchildren.
Harold is survived by his loving wife Carol, sons Harold Clark, Jr, David Clark and George Clark of RI., Gary Clark of FL, Peter Clark of NC, and daughter Cheryl Clark-Nicholson of TN. He is survived by 8 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Harold was the brother of Norman Clark, Ruth Wolfe, Lillian Hillman and the late George Clark Jr.
A memorial service will be held at Shepherd of the Valley, United Methodist Church, 604 Seven Mile Road, Scituate, RI. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in his name to a favorite charity of your choice
