Anne Marie Thelot

With hearts full of love and gratitude, we celebrate the life of Anne Marie Thelot, who peacefully passed away on September 10, 2025, with her loving husband of over 53 years, Marc Thelot, by her side. Born on January 22, 1942, in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, to Altisa Lubin, Anne Marie was the youngest of three children. She attended Lycée des Jeunes Filles in Port-au-Prince, where her bright spirit and determination first shone. In 1966, Anne Marie courageously migrated to the United States, and a year later, her beloved sister Rosie joined her. Together, they built a life and raised their families side by side, creating a bond that nurtured generations. Known affectionately as the favorite aunt, Anne Marie’s home was always warm and welcoming, filled with laughter, love, and the aroma of her delicious cooking. In 1987, she and her family moved to Fort Lauderdale, Florida, where she continued to pursue her dreams with grace and determination. Anne Marie graduated in nursing from McFatter Technical School and devoted her life to caring for others. She went on to become an inspiring entrepreneur, founding Lesly’s Leisure Assisted Living Facility, named in loving memory of her late son, Lesly. Her work reflected her boundless compassion and her commitment to making a difference in the lives of others. She was a brilliant, beautiful, and tenacious woman whose strength, grace, and warmth inspired everyone she met. Anne Marie was a talented seamstress, an amazing cook, and an athlete who competed as a track runner and pole vaulter in high school. She loved her family deeply, cherished sharing stories about them, and carried herself with pride. She was a devoted mother who spared no sacrifice for her children. Anne Marie also treasured traveling with the love of her life, Marc. Together they journeyed to France, Croatia, Italy, Portugal, Spain, and throughout the Caribbean, marveling at the wonders of the world and creating cherished memories along the way. She is survived by her devoted husband, Marc Thelot, who tenderly cared for her during her four-year illness; her children: • Louis Deslouches and his wife, Kasia Deslouches, and their children: Bianca and her husband, Yohanes Frezgi; Thomas; Louis Jr.; Natalia; and Gabriel; and great-granddaughters, Juliette and Ezra. • Carleen Tucker and her husband, Marc Tucker, and their children: Taj, Maxwell, Jackson, and Brooklyn. • Anne Sylvester and her husband, Kevin Sylvester, and their children: Nevaeh, Kendall, and Braelynn. She is also survived by her loving nieces, nephews, and godchildren. She was predeceased by her beloved son, Lesly Lubin; her mother, Altisa Lubin; and her sisters, Celine Michele and Rose Ducler. Anne Marie will be remembered for her unwavering devotion to family, her brilliance, generosity, resilience, and the legacy of love she leaves behind. We find comfort knowing that she is now seated at the right hand of the Father in all her glory, shining as brightly as she did in our hearts.
