Celebrating the Life & Love of Jovel A. Jenkins On September 18th, 1974, in Miami, Florida, Diane and James were blessed with the arrival of a handsome baby boy whom they named uniquely as Jovel. As their only child, they loved him deeply and cherished every moment they spent with him. When Jovel was just two years old, his family relocated to his mother's hometown of Long Island, New York, where he lived until his early 20s. Jovel pursued his passion for learning by obtaining a bachelor's degree in Engineering from the University of Phoenix, and he was also pursuing his master's degree. His diverse interests led him to explore various fields, including stocks, real estate, history, science, and many other subjects. After graduating, Jovel began his career as an Engineer at Motorola, where he excelled before eventually becoming a successful long-term entrepreneur. With his extensive knowledge of the economy, he ventured into the world of real estate investing and became a well-respected and influential figure in the industry. In addition to his professional pursuits, Jovel also had a deep desire to travel and connect with people from different cultures. He embarked on journeys to many countries, including China, England, France, Africa, the Caribbean, and many others. Among his favorite destinations was Cancun, where he enjoyed soaking up the sun and experiencing the local culture. Jovel respected and loved his mother Diane beyond words. The bond was inseparable since birth, and his whole goal was to ensure that she continued to be one of the most important people in his life up until he transitioned from this earth. Jovel met the love of his life, Tiffany in 2012. On February 22, 2022, they decided to spend eternity together. Genesis 2:22 states “and the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man.” This passage embodies the essence of their relationship. Jovel and Tiffany's bond grew stronger through their shared experiences of exploring different parts of the world and indulging in diverse culinary delights. Jovel's passion for learning and understanding different cultures led him to instill in Tiffany the ability to appreciate entrepreneurship, finance, family, and most importantly, the love for the universe, to which he believed he would one day return. These moments together created an unbreakable bond that will live on endlessly. Jovel's family tree is a testament to the love and legacy he built in his lifetime. Though he has left this world, his memory and impact will continue through his loved ones. Jovel's family includes his eldest daughter, Monica Jenkins, who he inspired to pursue her dreams of becoming a dental hygienist. Her drive and motivation were constantly fueled by her father's unwavering support. Monica also blessed him with his first grandchild, Zola Cooper, whom he cherished dearly. Jovel's son, Jovel "Tino" Jenkins Jr., was his protege. Jovel always encouraged him to strive for greatness and to be the best version of himself. Tino has achieved many milestones in his recovery journey, and his progress continues to inspire everyone around him. Ayani Jenkins, Jovel's youngest child, pursued a degree in stem cell and regenerative medicine. Her father's influence and encouragement have been instrumental in her achievements, and she is now pursuing a master's degree in this field. Ayana and Makayda Benain were like sisters to Jovel and they have many cherished childhood memories together. Jovel's love and guidance extended beyond his own children. He loved and embraced his stepchildren as his own. He welcomed Zahra, Shameka, and Richard into his life and shared his wisdom and affection with them. "Richie" considered Jovel his hero, a testament to the profound impact Jovel had on everyone around him. He loved his stepdaughter Iyonna as his own. He had been a part of her life since she was nine, and he was thrilled when she chose to pursue architecture, a field that aligned with his passion for real estate. Iyonna has completed over half of her studies and continues to pursue success with her stepfather's guidance in her heart. Though Jovel is no longer physically with them, his legacy will continue to live on through his family's accomplishments and memories. Jovel also held a special place in his heart for Tiana Israel, his beloved goddaughter, who he cherished endlessly. Tiana is the daughter of Jacob Israel, who Jovel considered to be a brother to him. Jovel's family was diverse, but he loved them all the same, and his guidance and support helped shape their lives and propel them towards success. His legacy lives on through them, and they will continue to honor him by following their dreams and achieving greatness, just as he always encouraged them to do. Jovel's love and inspiration will continue to live on through the lives of those who were fortunate enough to know him and the countless people he touched during his time here. He was a remarkable individual who left an unforgettable impression on everyone he encountered. Jovel's legacy is a testament to his strength and unwavering love, which will forever be cherished. Although he is no longer with us, we take solace in knowing that he is now vacationing on a journey in the light.
