Obituary In Loving Memory of Beverley Joyce Chin (née Chen) November 24, 1946 – April 1, 2025 It is with heavy hearts and deep gratitude for a life well-lived, that we announce the passing of Beverley Joyce Chin (née Chen) on April 1, 2025, at Broward Health North in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. She was surrounded by her loved ones as she peacefully departed this world at the age of seventy-eight. Born on November 24, 1946, in Deeside, Trelawny, Jamaica, Beverley was the second of three children of Euphemia “Ms. Mackie” Chen and the late Izette Chen. She attended Mt. Alvernia Preparatory and High Schools, where her dedication and determination laid the groundwork for a life of service, love, and achievement. Beverley’s early career included working in her family’s business in Montego Bay and later at the NIS office in Falmouth. It was during this time that she met Brian Chin, whom she married on March 16, 1980. Together, they built a life in Clarks Town, Trelawny, where they operated a supermarket and bakery while raising their children and extended family. A woman of many talents, Beverley had a deep passion for cooking, baking, and sewing. Her entrepreneurial spirit and love of cooking and baking led her to start a catering business, where her tasty creations, including her renowned Christmas cake and Easter bun, brought joy to many. She was equally committed to serving her community, and her generosity extended to donating bread on a weekly basis to the Falmouth Infirmary and beyond. A devoted member of St. Michaels Anglican Church in Clarks Town, Beverley served faithfully throughout her life and continued to do so even while living in Florida. Her love for God and dedication to her faith and her community were her sources of strength. She had the ability to make everyone feel appreciated. Whether it was through her smile, thoughtful words, phone calls, or her cooking, she brought joy to those who crossed her path. Beverley was predeceased by her husband, Brian, and son, Bruce. She will be fondly remembered as a loving wife, devoted mother, dedicated daughter, cherished grandmother, and a beloved sister, aunt, cousin, and friend. She will be dearly missed by her family, including her beloved children and grandchildren, her extended relatives, and countless friends whose lives she enriched. As we mourn her passing, we also celebrate the remarkable legacy she leaves behind—a life marked by love, dedication, and service. May her memory be a blessing and her legacy continue to inspire others. A service in celebration of Beverley's life will be held on April 27, 2025, at Grace Funeral Chapels, 5980 West Oakland Park Blvd., Lauderhill, FL, USA, 33313. Viewing will begin at 1:00 PM, followed by the service at 2:00 PM. Rest in eternal peace, Beverley. Your light will forever shine brightly in our hearts.
