Brian David Williams

Brian David Williams was born on February 3, 1975 to Sydney and Marjorie Williams in Spanish Town, Jamaica. Along with his parents and older brother Eli, they emigrated to the U.S. in March 1976 where the family settled in New Jersey for a number of years then later moved to Ft. Lauderdale, Florida in 1987. Brian attended and graduated from Plantation High School on June 12, 1993. Brian went on to Florida State where he achieved a B.Sc. Degree in Political Science in December 1998. Upon graduation, Brian moved to Atlanta and briefly worked Enterprise Car Rental in their corporate office. It didn’t take him long to realize that his true passion was in education so he began his teaching career in the Clayton County School system in Georgia. While in Georgia, Brian attended the New Life Baptist Church in Lithonia as well as ardently following the preaching teaching of T.D. Jakes. However, he never felt at home in Georgia so he relocated to South Florida. He was a high achiever and loved knowledge so it was not surprising that he went on to Nova University where he graduated with a M.A. in Education. Brian joined the Broward County School System as a teacher and after serving in that position for a while, he became a successful Assistant Principal. During his time as a teacher, he met and married Danielle Ocillean and the union produced a wonderful son, David. Brian always had a desire to do more and to some extent a nature of “pursuit”; he was widely read and broadly knowledgeable. His ambition was to achieve a Ph.D. in education eventually. Several years later, after the dissolution of his first marriage, Brian met and married Rose Laurie Burnot and the union produced a beautiful daughter, Isabella. Brian attended church with his brother Eli at Calvary Chapel in Ft. Lauderdale. He loved God, he was strongly family oriented, always remembering birthdays and special events, education and sports. To ensure Brian’s commitment to the Lord was secured, Rev. H. Theo Smith met, counseled and led him to God on Monday, May 13, 2019 while he was hospitalized – hallelujah! After a long personal and health struggle, Brian finally succumbed to multiple medical complications on Sunday, May 26, 2019. Brian leaves to mourn, his parents Sydney and Marjorie, Eli (brother), Pauline (step-mother), his two children, David and Isabella, several aunts, one grand-aunt, uncles, many cousins and friends. Brian, you fought a long battle, now Rest in Peace – We Love You Eternally!
