Born in 1939, Nubia embarked on a brave journey to the United States in the 1960s with her beloved husband, Jose Miguel Fernandez. Together, they were among the first in their families to cross the threshold of a new land, building a life rooted in determination, faith, and a love that knew no bounds. Their courage carved a path for greater opportunities, not just for their children, but for an entire family to come. Though Jose Miguel preceded her in death, his memory remained a guiding light in her life, a beacon that continued to shine brightly in her heart. Her name, Reina, meaning “queen,” is more than a title, it is a reflection of the regal strength with which she moved through life, ruling her world with grace, kindness, and an unwavering warmth. Her soul danced like the music she adored, spirited, free, and full of rhythm. Each step she took was a melody that resonated with the hearts of those around her, and each note of her life was played with the grace of a timeless song. Nubia’s love for family was the cornerstone of her existence. Her heart, a wellspring of devotion, overflowed with care for her loved ones. In their presence, she found her truest joy, and in their hearts, her legacy will live forever. Her home was a sanctuary of laughter, warmth, and love, a place where memories were made, and the bonds of family grew ever stronger. She is survived by her loving sons, Jose Miguel (Michael) Fernandez and his wife, Carol Langlois, of San Francisco, and Richard Fernandez of Brisbane, California. She was the proud and adoring grandmother of two cherished grandchildren, Remi (4) and Roman (6), who brought immeasurable joy to her later years. Nubia is also survived by her beloved brother, Francisco Reina, of Coral Springs, Florida, and her devoted niece, Martha Cecilia Medina Reina, whom she adored as a daughter. Services will be held on April 10 at Grace Funeral Chapels, 5980 West Oakland Park Blvd, Lauderhill, Florida, 33313, from 5PM - 9PM, followed by a church service on April 11 at 11:30AM at All Saints Church at 10900 W Oakland Park Blvd, Sunrise, FL 33351. Nacida en 1939, Nubia emprendió un valiente viaje hacia los Estados Unidos en la década de 1960 junto a su amado esposo, Jose Miguel Fernandez. Juntos, fueron de los primeros en sus familias en cruzar el umbral de una nueva tierra, construyendo una vida fundamentada en la determinación, la fe y un amor sin límites.
