Roger Belizaire

Roger Belizaire was born on February 3, 1950 to Derilien and Norcilia Belizaire in Jean-Rabel, Haiti. Roger immigrated to the United States in 1978 in search of a more prosperous life for his young family. He would later be joined by his then wife Ametude in 1979 to start a new life in South Florida where they gave birth to Ronnette. Soon after, the family was made whole when they were later joined by daughters Rodeline and Yolga who had been previously born to the couple in Haiti. Roger would then facilitate the immigration of his mother, brothers, sisters and numerous other family members from Haiti to the United States in order for them all to take advantage of the American promise. Roger would later marry Danise Clerjuste in 2005. Roger was a devoted son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He generously gave his time and resources to everyone who knew him which was a display of his deep Christian faith and profound love of Jesus Christ. He was a proud member of Bethel Evangelical Baptist Church in Fort Lauderdale, Florida for over 40 years where he served as a deacon and church leader. Roger was loved and admired by his church family, and he found purpose in being of service to them. Roger was preceded in death by his father, Derilien, his mother Norcilia, his brother Delicier, his sister Rosane, his first wife Ametude and his daughter Ketline. Roger is survived by his daughters, Rodeline, Yolga and Ronnette, his grand-children, Natalia, Alannah, and Ian and his son-in-law, Wilguens. Roger is also survived by his current wife Danise, his stepson Sonny, his brothers, Derosier, Rochenel and Delimeme, his sisters Elienne, Gertha, Alide, Deliane, Saintana, Deliciane and Saintase, his brothers-in-law Mislere, Eronel, Enstinfort and Arnold and his godson Christian along with countless nephews, nieces and other relatives. Special acknowledgements to members of the following families who are also mourning the loss of Roger: Belizaire, Homidas, Pierceint, Joseph, Fleurinord, Fleuridor, Sainvil, Jacksaint, Ministre, Octeus, Jules, Bien-Aime, Ductan, Noel, Ulysse, Edmond, Clerjuste and all others not previously listed. Profound gratitude to the staffs of Lenox by the Lake and Majestic Memory Care who provided a home and advanced care for Roger in the latter years of his life. The Lord called Roger home on January 25, 2026 as a result of complications due to pneumonia and Alzheimer’s disease which he lived with the last 5 years of his life. He passed away in hospice inpatient care in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Roger will truly be missed by all who had the good fortune of knowing and loving him. His rich legacy lives on through his family who will forever hold Roger as the ultimate example of a life well lived.
